What is Conflict of Nations?
Contents
Conflict of Nations is a real time based approach on modern strategy. Take the role of a Military Commander leading your nation to victory. To win, you will need to reach the Victory Point limit (which will scale depending if you are in a coalition or not) To achieve a global presence, you will need to engage in Diplomatic relations with other players. You can see the presence and progress of other Nations on the News. Be sure not to neglect this and take your time to get comfortable with it. To protect yourself and your nation, you will need to utilise your Military_Doctrine to get a strong force in the early game, using your Units to their maximum potential.
These Units will protect your vitals, your cities. The most important City you will have is your Capital. To ensure victorious campaigns, you will need to understand the intricacies of Combat, otherwise you will be frustrated at the outcome of blindly rushing to a force garrisoned in a City.
Once you successfully conquer a City, do not neglect it. The morale of your population will be low due to the recent war for said City. This increases the chance for Insurgents to uprise and conquer your land again.
As you progress throughout the game you will need to utilise Research for the best edge in Combat & new Units for you to use. Understanding the mechanics of Vision in the game will keep you on your toes to anticipate undetected movement.
Maps with a Huge scale
The game map is based on NASA high resolution imagery, resulting in unprecedented detail of the global Battlefield. Mountains of research went into geographic details, technical information, and of course, into the selection of, and the representation of the nations themselves. This being said, early-on we decided to let game-design rule over realism, providing a “sandbox” game rather than a political simulation. We are convinced that you will agree with our decision once you start conquering the world as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Vietnam, or Columbia.
As a player you can approach world domination in a variety of ways: individually, collaboratively alongside other individuals grouped in an alliance; conventionally or unconventionally. As a commander you might want to gather resources, or perhaps, as Japan you decide to focus upon establishing strong alliances with China and your neighboring nations of the Indochinese Peninsula. Are you an aggressive offensive warmonger, perhaps? We have a few of those around... Each playable country offers a different set of variables to consider, and potentially, each one of them has an equal opportunity to conquer the world.
The possibilities are endless.
And, should playing in real-time prove too slow or too anxiety provoking for you initially, as a player you are encouraged to command simultaneous games.
